Our Bergama Experience
Entering Bergama on the little bus, we could see the ruins far away on top of the mountain we got excited to get our bags at the accommodation and get started right away. We hit the Red Basilica first. It was one huge monument similar in the size to Philadelphia, but covers a lot bigger area. We were on a new set of ruins, not many people around, the security follows us as we take pictures of the site and in between I would ask them questions to avoid the awkwardness of the situation.
We found a totally different situation on this site compared to other sites. For instance, very little Egyptian influence in the Roman-Greco-Christian-Pagan art, but this one had both a very Jewish-Hebrew-Egyptian culture and the restoration of Sekmet Lion Goddess right in front of our eyes. The statue is huge and the original parts of it is black and the rest white. We walked through this site and found some more clues inside and outside that would explain the past of these people.
After breakfast, we walked up the road up until the cable car at the bottom of the mountain, paid 12 Lira each for a return trip and floated to the top of the mountain where the entrance is. Many tourists are here from all over and by the languages we heard, lots of Turkish, Russian and German tourists visit this site. This is one of the most important sites for German tourists because they took the Pergamom altar back to Germany.
We went from the Pergamom monument down again by the cable car and had lunch in town before we went to the Asklepios ruins. Asklepios was the son of Apollo and was the God of Medicine, so Askleios was a hospital of the ancients. It is a very interesting site to see and its a must to view.

The websites author with the interesting pattern on a 'white stone' he found near the centre of Trajans temple
The white stone is not really to do much about the white stone mentioned in the book of Revelation but more the interesting pattern that is found on the stone. The author saw this pattern in a vision a few days before and had to stop and do some thinking and check GPS co-ordinates at that moment. The measurements were also very interesting indeed. They were accurately measured in centimetres from the centre outwards. Whether this was part of a total tile floor plan seems likely, but most of all the stars were portrayed on the floor plus a Ying Yang symbolism on the outside of it.
A very nice aerial view of the city of Bergama can be seen from the ruins.
